Sick Days

Rose and I have been sick for the last day and a half. Cough, stuffy nose, headache, fever, sore throat, sensitive skin...no fun. But, it's been a very interesting experience...I feel closer to her. I am made for this, among so many other things, but this is my job, it is in my nature to be able to go nights without sleep and take care of my baby. I feel what she needs, I comfort her, I pour my love into her. This is motherhood, this is the most difficult, amazing, rewarding job in the whole world.

Update

It has been too long since I last posted! Rose is now 5 1/2 months old and she is absolutely wonderful!
When she was first born her long feet could bend back and touch her shin, this was a sign she was a little early (roughly ten days). It was the most darling thing when she would cough, and she would do the cutest poop face!
Rose had a sensitive tummy at the beginning. I had to cut out eggs, wheat, dairy, corn and sugar for a while. She would get so sad and we'd have to hold her in certain positions to help her stomach feel better, it was so sad. But we made it through!
She was not a fan of her bathtub the first time we tried it out but she loved the shower. She started rolling over at 4 months and now at 5 1/2 months she is getting close to crawling! She will get up on her hands and knees and rock back and forth and then lift her cute bum in the air like downward-facing dog. She is so fun.
She loves being in the Moby wrap while I cook and do dishes, and she is the cutest thing in her doorway jumper!
Rose is a real talker, she will chatter on for hours. She likes practicing throaty sounds and growling. Another one of her favorite things is when Tyson or I move our finger back and forth between her lips while she moves her voice up and down, so funny.
She has the best smile and the brightest big eyes. There is so much I could tell you about her, but I think this is enough--the rest is stored in my memory and in my heart. I love this little girl so much.

38 Weeks

I am now 38 weeks along and ready for this babe! Ty and I went camping over Saturday night so he could do some scouting for the hunt. I had a little bit of a hard time sleeping because of the contractions and difficulty getting comfy but we had a great time together :) My contractions feel different, I think I'm starting to open up. I've had the clear discharge the past couple days which is another sign of opening and I've been diligent about finishing the HB book and doing my relaxations. While I was at Powell, Ty got everything we need for the birthing pool and even moved our room around to see how it would all fit. He's wonderful. So now we are just waiting for this baby to be ready! Tyson and I are so excited :)

I Love This Man

Lake Powell

So...I ended up going to Lake Powell with my family while Tyson stayed home and worked. It was super fun! I stayed in a tent with my sisters (Edens hubby didn't go either) and we had some good laughs in that tent! I had to pee at least three times a night and we were sleeping on a blow up mattress so that was pretty exciting...by the last night I was really ready for my own bed! Eden did henna on my belly one afternoon, and I surfed behind the boat for realsies! Also we all swam to the little island one day, which felt amazing to my body! I love water. I went home early with Janelle and we chatted the whole 7 hours, she's an amazing woman. It was so fabulous to see Ty after 5 days, I missed him like crazy.

Country Gardens Nursery

Today after taking lunch to Ty (we sat out in the shade of a tree by the shop, it was very cute and picnic-y), I stopped by the Country Gardens Nursery to check out their tomato and bell pepper plants. I really like that place, it feels "countryish" and they have good prices and great plants. An older man helped me and I came home with six Omar's Lebanese heirloom tomato plants, two different types of cherry tomato plants, four red bell pepper plants, four green bell pepper plants, and a bag of fertilizer. All for $28! It was awesome, I was ecstatic. When I got home I put on a long sleeved, button up shirt to protect my arms and the back of my neck from the sun (I got roasted on Saturday) and started planting. I then sprinkled the whole garden with the fertilizers and gave it a good watering. I'm excited to show Tyson when he gets home.

Planting The Garden

Saturday Ty and I woke up at 6:00 am and started weeding the edges of our garden. Kimbal disked the center but we had to pull the weeds on the edge. It was so beautiful that early in the morning and it reminded me of waking up to garden with mom our first couple summers here. After the weeds were gone we began raking up piles. We used a large, shallow crate to sift out the rocks and dead weeds. When we were done it looked amazing. We took a break for lunch and stopped by moms to borrow some extra seeds she had to add to the ones I bought the week before. We planted zucchini, crook neck, cucumber, lettuce, spinach, kale, beats, radishes and onions. We are real rookies at this whole gardening thing so hopefully it works!

A Good Monday

It's been a lovely day so far, we had a nice break from the rain until about 10 minutes ago when the clouds blew in and it started up again. But! I had a great lesson with the kids today--Byron and I worked hard on restructuring his paper and I think the next one will be even easier for him.  I also made some progress on weeding the rim of our garden plot! I can't wait to get our seeds and plants in the ground.

May-June Timeline

So, it is the 20th of May today, next weekend I will be done working. My family leaves for Lake Powell the following weekend and I think they are staying for a week or so. Around that time Ty and I will probably take a trip to the cabin at Bear Lake and visit with Nana and Papa. I will have this baby in the next couple weeks after that...crazy.

Rain Rain Rain

It has been raining for weeks now it seems, we haven't been able to plant our garden or work on putting on the rock around our house. This must be the answer to all of the prayers for moisture we heard in sacrament meeting the past couple months. God hears.

Two Weeks

I put in my two weeks this past Sunday...I felt surprisingly nervous but it's only because it seems like such a final decision and I don't want Tina, Kami and Chantelle to feel disappointed. But! I do feel good about my decision and I'm excited to have all of June off work; it will give me time before this baby comes.

34 1/2 Weeks

Our baby has been stretching diagonally lately, low on my left side and up into my ribs on my right side. I'm pretty sure it's feet are what usually push up into my ribs because they feel small. I'm so excited to meet those little feet!
I've had two baby showers so far, my ward's and Barb's, and this weekend is my family's! We've gotten a lot of good stuff, I'm so grateful for people's generosity.

Update

It is May 14th today...Tyson and I are having a baby next month, this pregnancy has flown by. My belly is completely round and things are getting a little squished in there. I love this baby so much it's crazy, I can't wait to meet him/her.
Tyson is my happiness. He is doing well, he's working out every morning with the boys and this week he's been busy working in the shop, which is very exciting. We started the stone in the bottom of our house but it's been so rainy lately we haven't been able to finish it yet. It's going to look so nice all done, yesterday Tyson said our house is a little cottage, he wants to make a sign to hang on our door that says, DeMeyer Cottage, and he wants a vine-covered archway in the fence that leads to our garden. Is he the most darling man or what?
I'll be quitting my job soon, and Ty and I will be applying for an EBT card. Wellspring is continuing to get jobs but we need it to really start picking up now. The past three days my sisters, mom and I have been on spiritual fast for my dad, he's needing an awakening and hopefully this fast is powerful enough to bless him with just that. We all love him so very much.
Eden graduated last week, she has her Bachelors--majored in Ballet. I'm so proud of her. Liberty graduates on Monday, I'm so proud of her too, she has good plans for her future.
Last Saturday my visiting teachers threw a baby shower for me, the sweet ladies. I got some great stuff, I'm so excited to get everything I need and get all ready for this baby. This Saturday Barb and Angela are hrowing me a baby shower for Ty's half of the family, and next Saturday Mandy is throwing one for my side of the family. I love women.
I love my family. I love my Savior and my God. I love this gospel and my Hooper 3rd ward. I love this beautiful place we live. I love my life. There is a lot of unknown ahead, but one thing I do know is that God will provide and somehow things will work out.

Stomach Flu

Threw up in the middle of the night last night and had diarrhea. My sweet husband was planning on going up to the cabin for spring cleaning but instead stayed home to take care of me. I love him immensely.

31 Weeks

The other night I was having what mom calls "basketball surges", which are just toning surges but they were more intense than I've experience yet. I was having them one right after another and my abs were so tired, it felt like I had just done a thousand crunches. Anyway, very interesting! I have my next midwife appointment this Thursday. My "due date" is two months exactly from today...crazy!

24 Hour Stomach Flu

Yesterday I woke up with nausea and thought I was just having morning sickness--which would've been strange anyway since I only felt nauseous a little durning my first trimester. As the morning wore on, it didn't go away and on my way to work I called mom to see if this was normal during third trimester. She identified it as just the 24 hour stomach flu that's been going around. I found a sub and skipped work. I tried to sleep but could not get comfortable which was very discouraging because I was exhausted. Anyway, it ended up being a rather strange day, but this morning I feel much improved.

Bubble Bath

Last night Tyson and I stayed the night in Mandy and J's basement. They are in AZ and we've been letting the dogs in and out every morning and night. We made dinner, watched a movie, and took a bubble bath. Ty put too much soap in the tub and it made so many bubbles that we were entirely engulfed--the bubbles stood at least a foot above our heads! It was quite hilarious. We gave ourselves beards and huge eyebrows and hair dos. Like children :)

26 Weeks

I am now 26 weeks pregnant! He/she now weighs over a pound and is approximately 14 inches long. I can feel him/her kicking and moving around all the time, Tyson can feel it too. I weigh 137 lbs. which means I've gained 15 lbs. during this pregnancy so far. I love being pregnant, there is a magic to it and I am honored to carry one of Heavenly Father's beloved spirits.

Rainy Morning

This week Tyson and I are determined to wake up in time to accomplish our morning routine every day this week...so far so good.
It is raining outside and smells divine. Shay and Kimball said we can plant a garden, I am so excited! I love this place. I love Mondays. I love a rainy morning.

Morning Routine

This past weekend Tyson and I made an official Morning Routine and have been following it this week so far. I love it. I love the organization and the structure. My morning routine goes as follows:
Pray
Look at vision board for 3 minutes
Repeat affirmations
Drink a cup of water and take prenatals
Personal scripture study
Work out/stretch

After all that I usually make breakfast and make a lunch for Ty, among other things. Discipline = Freedom

Close Hearts

There has been an overwhelming amount of tenderness and love between Tyson and I lately--there always is, but lately it has been a little different. I treasure him so completely. I forgive myself and others for things in my past, and I move forward with new peace and ease. I cannot express the love I have for my husband, my Tyson, it is overpowering and all-encompassing. Close hearts, close minds, close bodies, close spirits, we are one.

Baby and Baby-Daddy

Last night, as we were lying in bed, our baby started kicking really hard so I had Tyson put his hand on my tummy.  "Say hi to Dad, Babe", I said and sure enough our baby started kicking right under Ty's hand.  He gasped, "That's so amazing!"  That was pure happiness for me.

Juice Fast

At this moment our fridge and counter top are full of fruits and vegetables--full.  Tyson is going on a two-week juice fast.  The past week and a half he has broken out with multiple rashes and is constantly itchy.  I was determined to find a way to help him, so I researched and I talked to Mandy and got some good suggestions.  Last night we watched, "Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead", which is a documentary about a man with many diseases and he was over-weight and had a rare type of rash.  Anyway, he went on a 60-day juice fast and the results were amazing--he lost 82 lbs., got completely off his medications, the rash healed, and he had an incredible amount of energy.  Needless to say, Tyson and I were inspired.  So, tomorrow starts the first day of two weeks of only vegetable and fruit juice for my Sweetheart--I am so excited for him!

Pink Mountains

The view from our east-facing window.

Babysitting

Today I am babysitting the Morris kids while Mandy is at the Foot Zoning training! So far she said it's been great, I'm so excited to learn about it from her! Today has been fun, so far we have played outside--riding bikes and drawing on the sidewalk with chalk--reading books, lunch, and finish watching Ever After. Now, Jade is sleeping on me, Boston is playing with Hairy Harry, and the girls are playing in their room.

Patching

I patched Tyson's work pants this week! I felt quite nifty I must say :) I want to start a sewing project and a knitting project soon.

Pop

My belly has "popped"!  I now officially look pregnant! :) Our baby kicks and punches on a regular basis and I adore the company. We are meeting with Chris, our midwife, tonight for our monthly appointment. I am already 21 1/2 weeks, these next four months will go quickly I think.

Nursery Works

Tyson and I have been in the nursery now for a few months. I have cleaned out the toy closet and thrown a lot away. Saturday I made two works for our kids--the toothpick work and the penny slot work. The kids loved them! We took a blanket and had snack outside because it was an absolutely gorgeous day. This week I want to made a work specifically for one of our little guys named Hazen. He needs a "little man work", and I am planning on a small backpack full of potatoes for him to carry around and empty and refill. I love this calling.

Language Lessons

A few weeks ago mom asked me to be Severin and Maurin's Language teacher, since they are homeschool and mom doesn't have the time to do everything. I said yes, of course, and have loved it so far! So far we have worked on nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, simple, compound and complex sentences. Today is a review day. I am making sure to keep my notes nicely in a notebook and keep a copy of any worksheets I have them do so that I can use them all again later in life. Sev and Maur have been so great to work with and I am super glad to get this type of experience--it's invaluable.

My New-found Passion

Cooking!  I love it!  Yesterday for lunch I made honey balsamic chicken and spaghetti squash--delicious.  For dinner, Ty and I made steak, yam fries and mushroom rice pilaf.  Clay came over for dinner and we watched The Fellowship of The Ring, extended version--so good.
Anyway, I am loving cooking right now.  I am hoping to get a recipe box for my birthday so I can start collecting.  I have so many great recipes on Pinterest, one of my goals is to start using them more often.  I want to make a weekly menu every Sunday.  Another one of my "cooking goals", as I call them, is to Be Brave! I want to try out new recipes and new ingredients.  I am also working on variety and collecting spices, herbs and basics like beans, canned tomatoes, frozen veg like corn, green beans and peas for soups etc.  I can hardly wait for produce this summer and fall! I am going to bottle and freeze and dehydrate every vegetable and fruit I can possibly store in our little house :)

Gas bubbles and Butterfly Kicks

I have officially felt our baby kick! This weekend I started feeling them and thought that maybe they were gas bubbles at first, but they feel different enough that I knew they weren't! Very, very exciting. I am now 19 weeks and our baby is the size of a large heirloom tomato :) 6 inches from head to rump.

Superbowl!

Sunday was the Superbowl.  We had a big family party at Mandy's and ate incredible food.  Clayton and Jordan announced that they are pregnant! Im so excited for them! They are due in October, so our babies will only be about 4-5 months apart.  Tyson hopes they're the same gender so that they can be best friends :) So many babies! Our family is growing and growing.
Oh, by the way, the Patriots won the Superbowl.

Sleepy Kisses

This morning Tyson woke up early, he had to be at the shop by 7am to leave for an install.  Before he left he came and snuggled me in bed for a few more minutes.  He smelled clean and his hair was wet. With a sleepy, raspy voice I told him he looked handsome, he kissed my face and lips.  I love him so madly.

Saturday Morning Waffles

Saturday morning we had Barb over for waffles.  We opened all the windows because it was so gorgeous outside and played our Oldies mix on Spotify.  I made the batter while Tyson tidied up the front room.  I was so happy, "this is heaven" I told myself--sun streaming in through the windows, the open front door letting in crisp, clean air, great music cheering us on, and the love of my life working with me.  Best ever.
It was fun to spend time with Barb, I love her.  We ate fresh blueberries and oranges on the side. Tyson made killer fried eggs and bacon, and our new waffle iron turned out beautiful waffles.  We chatted about individual beliefs, Valentines plans and the birth of our baby.  I'm so grateful for Saturday mornings, delicious food and great company.

Little Heartbeat

Last night Tyson and I went to our second appointment with Chris Miller, our midwife.  We got to hear our baby's little heartbeat.  Its so fast and strong! I am so excited for when I can feel the little kicks and squirms inside me.  Ty and I have both been feeling its a girl, but we are going to wait until its born to find out.  We will both be thrilled with either a girl or boy, we have no preference.
We will have our baby here in our home with my mom as our doula and Chris as our midwife.  You cannot go wrong with those two amazing ladies.  I can't wait to meet the little person who belongs to that little heartbeat.

White Kitchen

White pantries, white oven, white beadboard, white microwave, white fossett, white refrigerator.  We love our white kitchen and our robin's egg blue walls, it creates a feeling of cleanliness and lightness.  Yesterday I made taco soup in our white kitchen--made it from memory with no recipe. I have acquired an obsession with cooking lately, I want to make creative, delicious things!  Today I will go shopping and grind wheat for tomorrow morning's homemade waffles with Barb, Tyson's mother.  We love waffles.

First Post

This is my first post here on my new blog, I am excited.  Blogging has always been easier for me than keeping a journal (though journaling is what I have done most my life).  Today I start a new habit and practice of writing about this good life I have.
I am now 19 (almost 20), and I am married to the most wonderful man in the whole world, Tyson DeMeyer.  We were married August 7, 2014, which means we have now been married for a little over 5 months, and we are loving it.  We announced the exciting news to our families on Halloween that we are expecting a baby.  He/she will be born the end of June or beginning of July and we could not be more thrilled about it.
Tyson and I live in a darling little mother-in-law in Hooper surrounded by cows and chickens and open fields.  This is our little slice of Heaven.
